A young organization, built by people who refused to look away.

CAAP— the Centre for Awareness, Advocacy and Protection that exists because gender-based violence is still treated as a private matter in too many communities. We're working to change that, one meetup, one partnership, and one policy conversation at a time.

Our story

CAAP started as a small group of volunteers coordinating informal conversations about gender-based violence in their own neighbourhoods. That grew into a structured programme: monthly community meetups, partnerships with grassroots groups, and a growing case for support that we take to funders and policymakers.

We're still a young, mission-driven organization which means every grant secured and every partnership built has a direct, visible effect on the communities we work in.

How we work

A small Board sets strategic direction and holds the organization accountable to its constitution. Day-to-day, a lean team runs community meetups, manages communications, and drives the grant and proposal pipeline that keeps the work funded.

What guides us

Awareness

Change starts with communities talking openly about gender-based violence, not around it.

Advocacy

Individual conversations only go so far without stronger policy and accountability behind them.

Protection

Awareness and advocacy mean little if survivors aren't connected to real support when they need it.
